William von Mueffling, managing director of Lazard' New York-based hedge fund business has left the group. Von Mueffling managed the group's flagship hedge fund, the $1.2bn Lazard European Opportunities fund as well as the $800m Lazard Worldwide Opportunities fund. Both portfolios will now be run by Michael Rome. On the long-only side, Lazard is offering a discounted initial charge on its flagship Alpha fund range for the Isa season. The standard front load on its UK and European Alpha funds has been reduced by 0.25% to 3.5% until the end of the tax year.
