Robeco to launch equity and credit 'transition investing' funds

Robeco is set to launch several "transition investing" strategies across asset classes and sectors in the coming months, with a focus on the public markets.

The strategies will invest in equities and bonds across various industries which are making a "sustainable transition", including those in carbon-intensive sectors.  Its initial investments will be focused on Asia and emerging markets. Robeco has estimated that around $125trn is needed to shift emerging economies to be net zero by 2050. These funds "acknowledge the significance of transition finance" and the investment opportunity there, it said.
