The FSA moved to widen the derivatives market, giving retail investors access to the sector directly via the London Stock Exchange. The proposed regulations, due to be implemented in April 2002, would enable investors to invest in securitised derivatives.At the time, retail investors accessed derivatives in the form of warrants issued by investment trusts or via the futures and options market.
