New Star fund of funds manager Mark Harris is launching a Cautious Portfolio that aims to deliver around 3.5% annual net income, as well as some capital growth. The Cautious Portfolio trust, to be launched in October, will invest in a mixture of equity and share-based funds, with some exposure to overseas markets. It will hold a minimum of 40% of the portfolio in fixed interest to help boost the fund's income while reducing volatility. At launch, the asset allocation is likely to be 39% UK equities, 28% UK bonds, 11% in global bonds, 9% in global equities and 9% in specialist investment...
