The Actuarial Profession has warned endowment policyholders to expect lower bonuses for several years to come. This prediction has been cited as a reason for Sandy Crombie, Standard Life group CEO, turning down more than £0.5m in performance bonuses. The body believes customers with policies of 10 years or less duration could have seen the worst of low returns, but payouts from longer term policies were those most likely to suffer in the future.
