Group recruits Farquharson to boost Japanese team and promotes Brett to co-manager role
Baillie Gifford has strengthened its Japanese team, recruiting ex-Schroders manager Donald Farquharson. He joins as investment manager, with responsibility for stock selection across three offerings - the Japanese and Japan Smaller Companies funds and Shin Nippon Investment Trust. He will be allocated specific portfolios at a later date. Matthew Brett has also become co-manager of the Japanese fund.
