The fund management industry has the most representatives in this year's Gold Standard awards, with seven groups nominated for their overall proposition to consumers.
The groups contesting the award are JP Morgan Fleming, Fidelity, Isis, Gartmore, M&G, New Star and Investec.
Three protection providers were nominated in that category, while five pension companies reached the required standard. Four independent advisers were named in their sector: Torquil Clark, NHFA, Grant Thornton UK and Pearson Jones.
The awards aim to identify financial services companies focusing on areas such as financial strength, capability of the company to conduct business, service, fair value and trust.
They recognise groups that are challenging standard business practices to restore confidence in the industry.
The Gold Standard Award winners will be announced on Thursday 25 November.
