fixed interest products and specialist offerings worst performers this year
Only five out of over 1,700 unit trusts and Oeics in the UK market registered a negative return so far this year to 13 August, Lipper figures have revealed. Looking at the bottom 50 performers in Lipper's 1707-strong universe, the vast majority are gilt funds, reflecting the large-scale sell-off in this asset class as investor confidence has returned. Of the five negative performers, two are gilt portfolios: the £176m Henderson Long Dated Gilt managed by Steve Skinner and the £3.5m Solus Gilt Growth run by Kevin Doran, with offer to offer returns of -0.55% and -0.71% respectively. ...
