Growth in office property will benefit from expansion in the financial and business services sector, which is expected to exceed that of the wider economy until 2009, according to Scottish Widows Investment Partnership (Swip). Swip forecasts total returns of 6.9% per annum from UK commercial property over the next five years. It also expects to see property offering returns between gilts and equities, as some parts of the market, now overpriced, are vulnerable to a shift in investor sentiment.
