Pimco and Insight will run the assets of the Pensions Protection Fund, which will be invested in bonds, cash and derivatives. The two groups will split the £150m of assets that will reach the fund via a levy in the first year equally between them. Both groups have the contract for three years and will act alongside State Street Bank, custodian of the fund. Goldman Sachs will take on some assets at a later date, although it is not known whether this move will broaden the base of asset classes.
