Pictet has launched its latest thematic fund, focusing on the timber industry. The fund aims to exploit the timber theme by investing in listed stocks, with a focus on companies that own or manage forests and timberland. Timber has historically only been accessible through private equity vehicles which often have low liquidity and high minimum investments. Pictet says its approach allows investors to profit from the investment characteristics of the timber asset class with the liquidity of a conventional investment fund.
