Former Standard Life manager Martin McGuire has been recruited to head up the management of the AXA Property Trust. He replaces Hitesh Patel, the former head of the Fund Management Team who run the fund from launch in 2005 and is moving on to another role within AXA Real Estate Investment Managers. McGuire was previously a fund manager on Standard Life’s £2bn life property fund and from the early 1990s he led Standard Life's expansion into Europe where he built up the property investment, taking total investment to over €1.5bn.
