The total expense ratio for most multi-manager funds has spiked up over the past 12 months, but fallen over the previous three years. Lipper’s report on fund fees reveals assets under management for UK-domiciled funds of funds increased has increased threefold, up from £12.4bn in 2003 to £34.8bn in 2008. It said equity funds suffered outflows of £1.35bn in the first quarter of 2008, while fund of funds drew in £250m.
