Asset-backed specialist FIM has launched a vehicle investing in the UK’s renewable energy sector. Structured as a Scottish limited partnership, the offering focuses on onshore windfarms, with a minimum investment of £50,000. Individuals can invest directly into the partnership, so capital gains would be taxed at the current flat rate of 18%. An interest in the plan should also qualify for 100% relief of Inheritance tax after two years. FIM is seeking £20m initially and targeting returns of 15% net of costs.
