Alliance Trust has named current CIO Katherine Garrett-Cox as chief executive to succeed the departing Alan Harden. Garrett-Cox joined the company in May 2007 from Morley where she was CIO. She will take up the CEO position at the meeting of the board of directors held on 29 August, on which date Harden will also stand down as a director of the company. Chairman Lesley Knox said: “This appointment underlines our continuing commitment to delivering superior returns for shareholders through an ever-sharper focus on investment performance.”
