Retail sales for tracker funds hit a six-year high in the final three months of 2008, IMA statistics reveal. Sales recorded a net inflow of £280.2m in Q4, compared with an outflow of £33m during the previous quarter. Net retail sales for tracker funds for the whole of 2008 saw an inflow of £308.3m, in contrast to outflows of £108.9m in 2007. Advisers were the most popular distribution outlet for trackers, accounting for almost 60% of gross retail tracker sales.
