Friends Provident has launched a cautious managed fund to be run by F&C’s Paul Niven. The fund has been designed to appeal to investors with a cautious outlook and will have exposure to bonds and equities. This will allow members to further diversify their portfolios as well as potentially lower the risk. On 31 July 2006 it was estimated by Friends Provident that the fund has 42.0% invested in fixed interest, 39.0% in UK equities, 10.5% in overseas equities, 5.0% in property and 3.5% is held in cash.
