Martin Currie’s China team of Chris Ruffle and Ke Shifeng have set up a joint venture with their employer to expand its business in the region. Under the arrangement, Martin Currie will own 50% of the business, called Martin Currie China, with Ruffle and Shifeng owning the remaining 50%. Although Ruffle and Shifeng are no longer formally employed by Martin Currie, the new venture involves a five-year contract to work with the group.
