Rob Shafir has been promoted to CEO of Credit Suisse’s asset management division following the departure of David Blumer to Swiss Re, with immediate effect. Shafir will report to Brady Dougan, CEO of Credit Suisse and also continue with his responsibilities as CEO of the Americas region. He joined in 2007 after a 17-year stint at Lehman Brothers where he was most latterly head of equities. He has also worked at Morgan Stanley. Blumer has accepted a senior position at Swiss Re after overseeing the restructuring of the asset management business at Credit Suisse last year.
