Shares in Northern Rock have fallen a further 39% today as investors sell out of the beleaguered bank. The 39% fall this morning follows a 30% drop on Friday after the bank announced it had applied to the Bank of England for emergency funds. Other mortgage lenders such as Alliance & Leicester and Bradford & Bingley have also been caught up in the sell-off. As at 1.20pm, Northern's share price stood at 266.25p down from 438p at the start of trading this morning.
