Central bank actions being closely monitored

Stephen Jones, CIO of Kames Capital, has said the actions of central bankers and US President Donald Trump over the coming months will have the biggest impact on how long global economic expansion lasts.

He said Kames Capital's investment committee remains confident this period of global economic expansion, as a result of positive GDP revisions, strong job creation and industrial production, is set to continue. But the CIO added it is important to watch central bankers' decisions more closely than their words to determine the impact they would have on markets, while pointing to "meeting minutes" as a strong indicator.
