Why buy an investment trust on a platform? The same administration advantages apply to accessing investment trusts via platforms as they do for open-ended and other funds. Investors can hold investments from a number of different fund management groups under one ‘umbrella’, meaning they can see the value of their entire ISA or SIPP holding in one go. It also creates greater ease of reporting: clients will have one consolidated tax statement, for example. Equally, it means advisers can see aggregate exposures across different asset classes.
