The Norway-based fund team bucks the trend and outperforms many peers in the offshore Equity - Emerging Markets sector over one, three and five years with focus on large caps and family-owned companies.

Emerging markets have had a tough time over the second quarter, with local currencies depreciating relative to the US dollar as a result of the potential tapering of quantitative easing (QE), alongside evidence of a  slowdown in China. According to Capital Economics data released at the end of July, growth across emerging markets weakened again in April this year, and the emerging world is advancing at its slowest pace since the global financial crisis.
