The Middle East & North Africa (Mena) is a diverse region which defies easy categorisation. The Mena umbrella covers the oil-rich countries of the Arabian Gulf, the more-diversified economies bordering the Eastern Mediterranean and the fast-developing countries of North Africa. The region encompasses countries of different sizes, at different stages of economic development and with different political and regulatory structures.
