It is wrong to assume Sipps are only suitable for the well off as their costs have reduced in recent years, especially online offerings. However they should not be considered for any purpose other than retirement income

When Nigel Lawson introduced self invested personal pensions in 1989, he said in his budget speech: "I propose to make it easier for people in personal pensions to manage their own investments."
