Consultancy firm Laven Partners has called for much-needed categorisation of the different types of hedge funds. Speaking at the recent Financial Services Authority (FSA) Annual Public Meeting in July, the London-based consultancy said hedge funds are getting a bad name due to high-profile blow-ups, lacklustre returns and the recent credit crunch. It said further categorisation of the industry will assist growth.
