Commodities and natural resources have been the strongest investment trust performers over the last 12 months, reflecting global macroeconomic trends. The latest Association of Investment Trusts (AIC) statistics show recent surges in commodities and oil prices boosted closed-ended vehicles in the specialist commodities and natural resources sector. This area has produced average growth of 31% this year alone, closely followed by the global emerging market sector's 24% return.
