When asked whether or not FPC 1,2 and 3 exams are sufficient to be considered a fully-qualified IFA, responses were mixed, with some 15% of those surveyed choosing to answer 'other'. Those that selected 'other' responded with longer answers, explaining that, in their view, the answer cannot be a straight yes or no. • Insurance-slanted exams will produce insurance-slanted solutions. Only experience can produce a good adviser as common sense is the main quality. • There is no substitute for experience. • It is extremely worrying that advisers are deemed competent with only FPC 1, 2 and 3...
