Equity income funds are expected to be another strong push this coming Isa season having been among the top three best-selling sectors for most of this year. A further six equity income portfolios have been launched this year alone, giving intermediaries 79 such funds from which to choose. Competition is fierce, though, particularly in a sector in which names like Bill Mott, Neil Woodford, Tony Nutt, Jeremy Lang and Carl Stick have consistently delivered solid returns over recent years.
