Divergent opinions on financials among European equity managers is seeing significant differences in weightings across the sector, with the Société Générale Continental Europe fund holding almost a third of its fund in financials while the Eclectica Continental Europe fund has just 2%. The average fund in the IMA's Europe ex UK sector has a 17.5% weighting in financials, according to Morningstar figures from 28 February to 31 December last year, while the FTSE World Europe ex UK benchmark is 19.5%.
