Bradbury calls gradual mid-cap slowdown

Omam UK mid-cap fund has topped sector over three and five years although manager admits run cannot continue on same scale

Having stepped back from the UK equity head role to focus on running UK mid and small-cap money, Old Mutual's Ashton Bradbury has seen his UK Select Mid Cap fund rise to the very top of the UK All Companies sector. Over three years to 12 March, the vehicle returned 112.6% bid to bid compared to the sector average of 58.0%, according to figures from Morningstar. It is also the best-performing fund in the sector over a five-year period, returning 174.1% compared to 53.5%.
