Should we be divesting from carbon-intensive companies? You have to put a lot of effort in before you get to the point of saying just divest. It is much easier to just say it is not going to work upfront and divest. It is really hard to actually engage and slog through it. Simply divesting is lazy, and I think it is unlikely to have any real impact. To use a very pertinent example - the demand for oil globally is not falling. The supply of oil is falling.
