The first six months of 2022 have been challenging for investors, with declines across global stockmarkets.

The S&P 500 and Nasdaq have officially entered a bear market and we believe the UK is following suit, albeit with occasional dead cat bounces. Growth in the UK has already shown signs of stalling and the risk of recession continues to rise, both at home and overseas. Citigroup analysts have forecast a near 50% chance of global recession, while Barclays suggests the euro area could enter a recession in the fourth quarter of 2022.
