The latest sales figures from the IMA suggest that commodities and properties funds remain the most popular sectors with advisers, although the net flows in their direction are not so large - £118m and £69m respectively - as to mark a significant trend. Corporate bond funds - surely an out-of-favour sector - attracted £199m of net sales for the month of September. With the oil price now hovering around the $100 a barrel range, and the demand for metals, soft commodities such as agriculture, and energy supplies such as coal and gas still very strong, commodity funds will remain popular. ...
