Aberdeen suffers fresh £9.9bn outflows in Q3

Aberdeen Asset Management has been hit with fresh outflows of £9.9bn in the three months to the end of June, as investors continued to reduce exposure to Asia and emerging market equities.

In its latest set of results to the end of June, the firm revealed it has seen £9.9bn outflows from the business as a whole, including £3.7bn from Scottish Widows Investment Partnership (SWIP), which it acquired last year. Assets under management have fallen from £331bn at the end of March to £307bn by the end of June, reflecting negative FX and market movements over the period. Across asset classes, underperformance contributed to a £6.8bn drop in AUM, while exchange movements wiped another £6.8bn off the figure.
