EFG readies multi-asset Global Alpha fund for UK market

EFG Asset Management, part of Zurich-based private bank EFG International, is launching a multi-asset OEIC in April as part of its expansion into the UK.

The fund will be run by Hilary Wakefield, head of UK portfolio management. It will invest in cash, government bonds, corporate bonds, hybrid debt (including high yield), equity, and alternative assets such as property, infrastructure and hedge funds. The fund will use LIBOR +3% as its benchmark, with a target return of about 8% and a target volatility of 4%-7%. It will aim to be a low-to-medium risk product, with a medium-term investment outlook, the group said.
