How Rodrigs rides turbulent markets

Philip Rodrigs, winner of the Outstanding Rising Talent accolade at the Morningstar OBSR awards, said his success has been due to his ability to deliver style agnostic returns in a difficult market.

Top quartile over three and five years, the manager’s £409m Investec UK Smaller Companies fund has performed in good times and bad since he took the helm in 2006. Rodrigs is confident his run can continue, despite the backdrop of a struggling UK economy. “We have been consistent in avoiding a bias towards either value or quality, which has been an advantage in these markets. “There are still great opportunities out there.
