BCC cuts UK growth forecast to 0.1%

The British Chamber of Commerce (BCC) has revised down its forecast for economic growth this year, from 0.6% to 0.1%

The group warned in its latest Quarterly Economic Forecast that the economy would continue to "bump along the bottom" unless the government takes action to stimulate growth. However, the BCC, which represents some 100,000 UK businesses, marginally raised its forecast for next year, from 1.8% to 1.9%. BCC director-general John Longworth said the coalition government should take more "enterprise-friendly" action to spark a recovery.
