Shant takes on Newton European income fund as Moore exits

Raj Shant has been appointed lead manager on the £19m Newton European Higher Income fund, replacing Fred Moore, who is leaving Newton to pursue opportunities outside the investment management industry.

Tom Beevers will remain alternate manager on the fund. Shant is investment leader of the European equities department at Newton and lead manager of the Continental European strategy, in charge of both institutional and retail equity portfolios. He joined Newton in 2002 and has worked at Credit Suisse Asset Management and Royal Insurance Management.
