Marlborough to merge funds following Bennett exit

Marlborough Fund Managers has announced plans to merge two UK funds, one of which was formerly run by Greg Bennett, into portfolios managed by Giles Hargreave.

The group is planning to merge the £24m Marlborough UK Large Cap Growth fund into the £50m Marlborough UK Leading Companies fund. It is also set to merge the £11m Marlborough UK Equity Income fund into the Marlborough Multi Cap Income fund, which was launched in June. Both funds are headed up by Giles Hargreave. The move comes two weeks after Greg Bennett left the firm to join his former Neptune colleagues at Argonaut Capital Partners.
