OMAM to launch global bond fund for Cowley

Old Mutual Asset Managers is launching a Dublin-domiciled bond fund for its head of fixed interest Stewart Cowley.

Global Bond, due for launch in December, will be managed using the same investment approach employed in the UK-domiciled Old Mutual Global Strategic Bond fund, also run by Cowley. The approach is focused on total return, active management across the broad fixed interest market and achieving the appropriate balance between risk and return. It will be "benchmark aware rather than benchmark driven", the company says, and will therefore not hold positions just because they are included in an index.
