Malcolm Couch is to take over the role as assessor of income tax at the Isle of Man government, replacing Ian Kelly who is to retire from his position. Couch will undertake his new post at the beginning of November, working for a period alongside Kelly to ensure a smooth transition. Couch's appointment comes as the Isle of Man continues to develop its new tax strategy that will accommodate the EU Code on Conduct for Business Taxation and the introduction of a standard zero rate of income tax for businesses by 2006.
