Chris Cheetham is to join HSBC Asset Management as its global chief investment officer, replacing Bryce McDonnell who retired in October. Cheetham was previously at Axa Investment Managers, where he has held the global CIO position since January 2000. At Axa, co-head of securities management Robert Kyprianou will take on Cheetham's role while the group seeks a permanent replacement. There is no timescale on when this will be as yet nor whether it will be an internal or external appointment.
