A trial of facts has commenced at the Old Bailey to examine allegedly illegal transactions carried out by former Morgan Grenfell European Growth Trust manager Peter Young in 1994. The purpose of the trial is to determine whether Young committed an offense, namely dishonestly concealing material facts contrary to the Financial Services Act. Young was previously declared mentally unfit to stand an ordinary criminal trial after appearing in court dressed as a woman. The trial, before Justice Rupert Jackson, is being heard before a jury.
