Simon Roberts, co-manager of the Lazard UK Alpha fund, has left the group to join hedge fund boutique Bluecrest Capital. Roberts had run the £667m fund with Tony Willis from launch in November 1999, having joined the group in the previous April. Before, he held positions at both Fidelity and Schroders. Willis will take the helm as lead manager and will continue to be supported by Gabrielle Boyle, along with new recruit Alan Custis, who joined from JP Morgan earlier this month. Lazards' external spokeswoman, Fiona Piper, said the group's team-based, process-driven approach remains intact...
