The Threadneedle brand and management team will be retained by American Express (Amex) following its £340m acquisition of the fund manager from Zurich Financial Services. Threadneedle chief executive officer Simon Davies will remain at the helm of the fund group but report to Jim Cracchiolo, group president of Amex's global financial services business. The deal is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter, subject to the usual regulatory and competition authority approval.
