RWC Partners has poached two managers from hedge fund boutique Sofaer Capital to head up a suite of Asian products. Asia and emerging market specialists Carmel Peters and Kirsty McLaren join in August. RWC Partners, rebranded from MPC, will launch a long-only Asian portfolio in September and a hedge fund in October. The former, called RWC Asia Ascent, will invest across the full region and can go short where the managers see opportunities. RWC currently runs three hedge funds, Pilgrim, Samsara and Strategic Opportunities, under John Innes, Ajay Gambhir and Miles Geldard respectively...
