The bounce-back in equity markets has seen the asset class outperform property in the 12 months to the end of September 2003. Equity returns have beaten property over the past 12 months and the year to the end of September 2003. With the poor equity market month of September 2002 no longer included in the most recent 12-month figures, the FTSE All-Share has risen by 16.7% in that period.
