Martin Currie's Jeff Saunders added two miners to his UK Growth portfolio last month citing upside potential, but says he is not ready to apply this to the sector as a whole. He reduced a number of smaller holdings to introduce a 3% position in Anglo American and 2% in Kazakhmys to the fund. The move brings his overall mining exposure to around 9%, having also added to longer-term positions in Rio Tinto and BHP Billiton.
