Govett Investments has appointed Andrew McDonald as manager of its UK Smaller Companies Fund. McDonald joins from Montanaro Holdings Ltd where he was fund manager of the Montanaro UK Smaller Companies Investment Trust and the CF Montanaro UK Smaller Companies Unit Trust. Govett has further confirmed the forthcoming departure of Julian Cooke, who is leaving the group for a career break. McDonald will take over Cooke's responsibilities on the UK Smaller Companies Fund and work directly with CIO, John Murray, to manage the Govett Strategic investment trust.
